General information on marine incinerators

TeamTec marine incinerators are highly regarded by the marine market.
Have you got a waste challenge? Is it costly or difficult to deposit this ashore?

Do you need to dispose of one or more of the following?

  • sludge (from heavy oil powered engines)
  • waste oil
  • lubricants
  • solid waste like cardboard, plastics, paper, wood, rubber, cloth, oily rags
  • food waste
  • hospital waste (on hospital ships)

Onboard incineration would then be the sensible choice with respect to:

  • economy
  • practicality
  • simplicity

We will find you the tool!

Our high-tech marine incinerators are computerized to make daily use simple, automated and safe for the user over a long product life, and ensure compliance with IMO requirements.

All models are run at a high temperature to enable high capacity for burning both liquid and solid waste, and in spite of this, have small dimensions.

Allow us to give you a guided tour on this aspect.

Recommendations for installation of marine incinerator system

Fixing to the deck: An incinerator consists of combustion chamber with burner unit, sludge burning equipment and electric control panel. It is assembled in one complete unit resting on 4 or 6 feet or pads. The unit is to be welded or bolted firmly to the deck/platform.
The flue gas/cooling fan is delivered as a separate unit. It is to be installed in the most convenient place close to the incinerator, or away from the unit itself, for instance in the funnel.

Certificates

Our incinerators are certified in compliance with IMO Resolution MEPC. 76(40) adopted on 25. September 1997, «Standard Specifications of Shipboard Incinerators» with amendments 98/85/EC, 2001/53/EC, 2002/75/EC, and IMO MARPOL ANNEX VI adopted 26. September 1997.

All models are continuously certified in accordance with MED (European Marine Equipment Directive), through DNV. We are able and ready to pursue any special needs for certification for our clients, through our extended contacts with the classification societies.
