General specification:
Glass element: | Highest quality, blemish-free, float glass, laminated with silicate and equipped with UV-stop film. Special lamination process ensures high insulation value against noise, solar and heat loss. The glass package bolts into the external frame from the "cabin side" |
Frames: | The external frame is made from sturdy steel angle bar, and can be welded or bolted on to the structure. The internal frames are telescopic, for the ease of installation. Material is extruded "seaworthy" aluminum |
Options: | Roller blinds, Venetian blinds, tinted glass, stainless frames, bullet proofing. |
Approvals: | Fire tested from both sides, including hose stream test and heat radiation test. All according to latest IMO requirement and FPT code. Certified by all major classification societies including MED approval. |
Certificates
TeamTec contiuously hold and maintain a solid base of certificates from an extensive list of class societies. Due to the frequent updating of these certificates, we prefer that you make contact with us to provide you with updated and correct fire certification. Where fire rated windows are used
Regulations for windows and sidescuttles
Outline specification for A-60:
Where A60 windows are to be installed the following criteria shall be met:
- The windows shall have relevant type approval acc. to IMO Res. A754 (18) based upon fire test against the high risk side.
- A-60 windows are listed under MED Directive 96/98 EC. For delivery to EU-countries certificates acc. to module B and D, E or F is a requirement.
- The windows shall have toughened safety glass dimensioned as per ISO 3254 and ISO 1095 (side scuttles).
- The windows shall have mechanical strength as required by ISO 3903 and ISO 1751 (side scuttles).
- A-60 windows where the mechanical strength is relying on spacers between the different layers of glass, is not acceptable.
- A-60 windows shall be efficiently protected against UV-rays by UV-stop film.
Offshore applications:
Our A-60 windows are, due to its rugged construction, also suitable for applications where explosion pressure is a requirement.
H-120 (H-60) is used on offshore production units including FPSO’s.
Our H-class windows are constructed in the same manner as A-60 class. The difference is the thickness of the fire-protective H-class glass.
Our windows offer the unique combination of superior optical quality and explosion resistance.
A-0
DNV requires all new supply ships with Fi-Fi class to be equipped with A0 windows. This requirement includes the wheelhouse as well as cabins. TeamTec AS will guarantee for the optic and are probably the only company on the industry doing this not only for A-0 windows but all our windows.
Performance Criteria:
Our windows are tested in a furnace where temperatures reach 945 degrees Celsius for our A classed windows and 1100 degrees for our H classed window.
Insulation
For A-class divisions the average unexposed-face temperature should not be more then 140 degrees Celsius and not more then 180 degrees Celsius during the period given below.
A-60 60 min
A-0 0 min
When TeamTec AS tested our H-120 window the temperature was turned up to 1100 degrees within 20 minutes and the average temperature on the inside of the glass was 85 degrees over a period of 2 hours (120 minutes)
*common description of rating: A-60 (A 60 / A60), A-0 (A 0 / A0), H-120 (H 120 / H120)
